CFM

CFM is a measure of air flow used to calculate and configure heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system capabilities. The acronym for “cubic feet per minute,” CFM describes the rate at which a particular volume of air moves in a set period of time, typically as forced by an HVAC system’s blower or fan. Thus, a 1,000 CFM blower would be capable of filling a 10-foot square interior space with conditioned air at a rate of one minute. Accurate CFM measurements are key to choosing the right HVAC system with the capacity to efficiently meet space and temperature needs.
