Thermostatic Expansion Valve (TXV)
Located inside the air handler, the thermostatic expansion valve (TXV) monitors and controls the flow of refrigerant entering the evaporator coil. The TXV optimizes efficiency in HVAC systems by ensuring that the refrigerant maintains maximum heat and a smooth inward flow of liquid refrigerant balanced by an outward flow of vaporized refrigerant. The smooth and balanced flow of the refrigerant helps optimize heat transference while also easing the workload of the compressor and other equipment. All of this adds up to energy savings and reduced wear and tear on the machinery.
